Early Morning Wake-ups

Lets talk about Early Morning Wake Ups! They can be sooo frustrating because you just want a few more hours of sleep! (I one wants to wake up at 4am or 5am for the day...right?)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀


So what causes Early Morning Wake Ups?

They can be caused by a number of reasons: ⠀

  • Sunlight creeping in⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Overtired before bed⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Too much daytime sleep⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Too little daytime sleep⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Hunger⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Habit⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Relying on sleep props⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • First nap of the day is too early⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀


Is there anything we can do about early wake-ups?

YES! First, we want to find out what can be causing them and then tackle that issue. One of my best tips for tackling early morning wake ups is to make sure baby is putting themselves independently to sleep and trying an early bedtime!. Lots of times, early bed times is all it takes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
